This guide is designed for use with EiE INKJET WATERPROOF FILM ONLY.

STEP – BY – STEP Guide:

STEP 1 : PREPARE ARTWORK FOR OUTPUT

Remember quality of your digital artwork will determine the quality of your positive (or negative). Your artwork must have smooth lines and edges and must be of adequate resolution. A minimum of 720 dpi is recommended (1440 dpi or higher for line art)

STEP 2 : LOAD THE FILM INTO THE PRINTER

When you load the film into the printer care should be taken so that the coated side of the film will face up & under the print head. Most sheet-fed inkjet printers require the film to be loaded coated side down in the printer tray. This is because, as the film if fed through the printer, the coated side will face upward to receive the ink.

If your printer loads from the back OR if you are using rolls the film should be loaded with coated side facing up.

QUICK TIP:

1. It is easy to identify a coated side of the inkjet film from uncoated side. Slightly damp your fingers and touch the film. The sticky side is the coated side. Non-Coated side will not be sticky.

2. Alternatively, the coated (print) side of the film will have a slightly dull appearance.

STEP 3: CHECK PRINTER SETTINGS

Make sure printer is set to highest resolution and print quality. Also, note, higher the resolution, the slower the print. Next set the MEDIA

SETTINGS (on the printer) to PHOTOQUALITY GLOSSY FILM. (if this option is not available, choose similar FILM or TRANSPERANCY setting)

Options will vary based on printer and Software available. Then, set ink deposit for optimum results.

QUICK TIP: Experiment with the setting options available with your printer to determine the best set-up for your requirements. If positive seems

too light or lacks density, try increasing the print quality or amount of Ink deposit.

PRO TIP: if you are feeling frustrated during this process, we highly recommend you to invest in a good quality RIP Software. (RIP Stands for Raster image Processor). We highly recommend you to consider ACCURIP Software.

STEP 4: PRINT

Our EiE brand of Inkjet films are designed to dry instantly if you are using genuine OEM Inks.

However, we have found time and again that there are a lot of white label inks available in the market that promise you to save money. With these inks, we have found that positive will dry and ready to use in approximately 2 to 3 minutes. Hence, always make sure the positive is completely dry before using. Transfer or marring will occur if used before completely dry.

QUICK TIP:

1. Printing Environment should be 65 – 75 F with a relative humidity of 40 – 70% for best results.

2. EiE Brand of positive/negatives are recyclable and can be stored for later use. For best results, interleaf positives with a clean piece of newsprint and store in a low humidity environment.
